ACT - A Contemporary Theatre [back to top]Theatre
ACT’s mission is to produce relevant works on contemporary themes, nurturing new and seasoned artists, collaborating with promising playwrights and local performing artists working in a variety of media, and connecting audiences to the many stages of the creative process. We fulfill our mission through our primary programming, Mainstage, ACTLab and the Young Playwrights Program (YPP): The Mainstage Plays epitomize our reputation for presenting innovative, challenging, entertaining, and relevant work; our ACTLab series provides production, ticket office and marketing support to 10 to 15 theatre partners producing in our building each year; and the YPP offers a 10-week, 20-class arts education program in playwriting that serves public and private middle and high schools in and around Seattle.Note to actors:
-If you're doing a comic piece, make sure when you're timing it at home that you allow some seconds for the laughs you're sure to get! We hate it when you get cut off by the time monitor when we're enjoying your work!
-Own the space and what you're there to do. No apologizing please! No matter how you feel or how you think it's gone (and you may not always be correct!) stay bright and confident and glad to be there. We're happy to see you!
-Please as you come onto the stage take a tiny second to spot the Exit located on the other side so you can depart with assurance and dignity at the end of your audition.
2019 Season projects (subscription season, workshops, readings) and beyond.
We are committed to expanding and deepening our knowledge of the range of artists in the community and interested in meeting actors of all races and ethnicities, gender identity and expression, neuro-diversities, and the diversely abled.

Actors First Agency [back to top]Talent Agency
We Build Resumes'!
Actors First Agency is an exclusive boutique agency that represents less than 70 actors, for commercials, television and film. We look for well trained, dedicated actors, that understand the business of commercials and films. We want actors to succeed and not compete with other actors that are their type in the same agency. Actors First wants our actor to be a success. Elicia Walker owner of Actors First is dedicated to making that happen. The actor must be dedicated to that goal also!
Please Actors! Know this may be an audition, but it must be treated as a job interview. Would you go to a audition in New York or LA in old jeans and a T-Shirt. Actors, you must walk in in the room immediately own it. The old adage "it takes 3 to 6 seconds when you walk into the room to make an impression" IS TRUE!!. Also understand your light and know it can wash you out. Please use the room! The auditors can be daunting and I know I would be frightened, but you have gotten in the room with your bravery, so fill the room with your presence. You do not have to just stand in the light in one place. Use the room! Grab our interest! Please! Remember a lot of the Bigger Theaters audition in New York and other places. You are not just competing with Seattle Actors for those jobs. Know your audience, have fun!
